This Sri Lankan plant was formerly known as C. lutea. It is a slow grower that will benefit from a nutrient-rich substrate. Smaller plants should be planted at intervals of several centimetres, and after a few months, they should have grown to form sturdy dense clumps. Unlike many of the other Cryptocoryne species, C. walkeri tends to grow in a much more rigid and erect fashion. Propagation is by runners.
